Pet Tech offers a 5+ hour class that teaches you CPR techniques, first aid skills, and other general healthcare information for dogs and cats alike. Participants receive a helpful 40-page handbook to take home. Your local vet or animal shelter might also offer CPR classes.
What is a pet Tech?
PET technologists use radioactive drugs for diagnosis and medical research. They prepare these radioactive drugs (radiopharmaceuticals) and give them to patients for diagnosis. Different organs, tissues, and parts of the body absorb the drugs at different rates.

Remember, a dog can be unconscious but breathing. If the dog is breathing, CPR is not necessary. Lay the dog on their right side, push the front elbow back to the chest. The spot where the elbow touches the chest is called the intercostal space and marks where the heart is located.

Where is a dog’s pulse points?
Does your dog have a Pulse? The femoral artery, located on the inner thigh, is the easiest place to find your dog’s pulse. Run your hand along the inside of the hind leg until you are almost to the point the leg joins with the body. There you should feel a slight dip where the femoral artery is closest to the skin.
