What is the difference between KB and KBG Moccamaster?

The Moccamaster KBG comes with an automatic brew basket and twenty-five color choices. At the same time, the Moccamaster KB has the manual drip-stop brew-basket that gives you the flexibility to brew various sizes. It’s hard to choose! No matter which way you go, you’ll enjoy the delicious coffee it makes.

What kind of filter does a Moccamaster use?

All of our 8- and 10-cup coffee brewers use No. 4 conical filters.

Why is the Moccamaster so good?

A unique feature of the Technivorm Moccamaster is that it has a dual-coil copper heating component that is similar to that of an espresso machine. Copper is a metal that’s not only durable, but it’s also an excellent conductor that quickly heats your water to the correct temperature.

Can I use vinegar to clean Moccamaster?

We do not recommend using vinegar or citric acid to descale as they might damage the machine, leave an unpleasant taste, or cause issues with your Moccamasters’ mechanical parts.

Can you use regular filters for Moccamaster?

They’re too thin and very papery. Regular filters are porous and make much better coffee. I definitely would not recommend. Don’t waste your money.

Can I use reusable filter for Moccamaster?

This reusable filter fits in every coffee machine where you normally use filters No. 4 for instance with our Moccamaster KBG Select and KBGT brewers. The filter is made out of stainless steel and has a protective gold layer of hard titanium.

What grind is best for Moccamaster?

medium-coarse
When brewing with a Moccamaster, the grind size should be medium-coarse, like sea salt or rough sand. Most pre-ground coffee purchased in the supermarket is ground too finely for optimal performance on the Moccamaster.

Does the Moccamaster come with filters?

Although you’ll probably never need one, the standard #4 Technivorm Moccamaster 13253 brew basket is also available for $19.50. A set of branded filter papers comes in the box with your machine — at least mine did. Stocking up on them is relatively affordable compared to other reputable suppliers, such as Hario.

Do you need a filter with the Moccamaster?

For the best tasting batch-brewed coffee, you’ll want the highest-quality filters, because they allow water to flow through at precisely the right rate. To accompany the Technivorm Moccamaster, we recommend these premium paper filters because they are made in the Netherlands using Technivorm’s specifications.
