What is Ticovac vaccine?
TICOVAC™ is indicated for active immunization to prevent tick-borne encephalitis (TBE). TICOVAC is approved for use in individuals 1 year of age and older. Complete the primary immunization series at least 1 week prior to potential exposure to TBEV (tick-borne encephalitis virus) [see Clinical Studies (14.1)].
How long does tick vaccine last?
TBE vaccines may be given in 2 or 3 doses, depending on the vaccine. Accelerated schedules are available. Vaccine side effects are most commonly injection-site reactions, fever, tiredness, and diarrhea. Duration of vaccine protection is 3 to 5 years; a booster dose is recommended if at continued risk.
How long does Ticovac last?
It gives protection for up to three years. If you leave too much time between the 3 doses, you may not have full protection against infection. If you are younger than 60, you will need the first booster dose 3 years after the third dose. Further booster doses should be given every 5 years.
How long does the Lyme disease vaccine last?
INDICATIONS: Shown to be effective for vaccination of healthy dogs 8 weeks of age or older against Borrelia burgdorferi. Duration of Immunity is at least 1 year.
How often is cholera vaccine needed?
With the oral vaccine, two or three doses are typically recommended. The duration of protection is two years in adults and six months in children aged 2–5 years. A single dose vaccine is available for those traveling to an area where cholera is common.
Why was Lyme vaccine taken off the market?
In 1998, the FDA approved a new recombinant Lyme vaccine, LYMErix™, which reduced new infections in vaccinated adults by nearly 80%. Just 3 years later, the manufacturer voluntarily withdrew its product from the market amidst media coverage, fears of vaccine side-effects, and declining sales.

How long does the tick injection last?
2 injections of the vaccine can protect you for about a year. A 3rd injection can protect you for about 3 years. You need to have the first injection at least 1 month before travelling. The TBE vaccine is not available on the NHS.
Who needs cholera vaccine?
Most people don’t need to get the cholera vaccine. But doctors may recommend it for people ages 18 through 64 years who are traveling to an area where people are getting cholera. Talk with your doctor about how to protect your family from cholera while traveling.
At what age is cholera vaccine given?
They are given to all individuals over the age of one year. There must be a minimum of two weeks delay between each dose of these vaccines. Two doses of Shanchol™ and Euvichol® provide protection against cholera for 3 years, while a single dose provides short term protection.
