Does AARP send a membership card?
You can add a second household member to your AARP membership, for free, at any time. They will receive their own membership card, which we will automatically send after you add them to your account. To add a secondary member: Log in to your AARP online account.

- Spouse/Partner (your free secondary member) information.
- Community username.

Can my wife use my AARP card?
If you are an AARP member, you can add your spouse or an adult living at your address to your account as a secondary member for free. Even if they are under 50, they can enjoy full membership status as long as you, the primary member, are over 50.

Are there downsides to AARP?
Cons. Many of the discounts and benefits that AARP offers are targeted toward those ages 50 and older. This makes sense since it’s their target demographic but may not be a good fit for younger members. If you have a membership such as AAA that also offers discounts, you may find a lot of overlap between the two.

How much does it cost to join AARP?
$16 per year
A standard AARP membership costs $16 per year, whether you are joining or renewing. However, once you’re an AARP member, you can save on membership fees by signing up for Automatic Renewal, which costs $12 for the first year, or by choosing a longer term of membership.
